To reduce or minimize the acne on the face, Accutane drug is used. The drug is patent by reputed drug company Roche Pharmaceuticals. Accutane drug is known by different names in different countries. It is referred to as Isotretinoin in the United States while in other countries it is called Roaccutane. Isotretinoin is the generic name of accutane drug. It is a very effective drug that reduces the production of oil in the oil glands. As a result, occurrence of acne is successfully reduced. However, the accutane drug has various side effects and if used improperly can be hazardous to the body as a whole.

The harmful effects of the drug are:

• itchy skin

• hair loss

• nosebleeds

• chapped lips

• joint pain

• urinary and intestinal disorders

• diminishing night vision

• severe head aches

• heart attacks

• harm liver

• increase triglyceride levels

The drug can cause birth defects in case of pregnant woman. Some of the deformities that occur in a child include mental retardation, nervous and facial deformities, lowers a child IQ and retards the developmental and learning ability of a child. It is necessary to know that there are a lot of generic accutane versions available in the market and in the internet, such as: Sotret, Claravis and Amnesteem. One of the main constituent parts of these drugs are Vitamin A, but this vitamin is not assimilated by the body very well, moreover it may lead to harmful effects to the organism if taken in excess quality.
